Soldati La Scolca

The La Scolca estate was purchased in 1919 by Giorgio Soldati's great-grandfather. Today his daughter Chiara Soldati runs the company, the name of the plot derived from the ancient toponym "Sfurca" or "Looking away" and the farmhouse that stood there had in the past been a lookout post. The surname fully reflects the proud and tenacious character of the owners and their wines.

At the time of purchase, the property was partly covered by woods and partly cultivated with wheat. It was a well-considered intuition to plant Cortese vineyards in 1900 in an area exclusively suited to the cultivation of red grape vineyards: never, as in this case, was the name of the company prophetic. Production soon became a primary technical and entrepreneurial activity. Scolca is therefore the oldest company in the area, due to the continuity of management by the same family, but at the same time it is the most modern.

The Brut Soldati sparkling wine from the Piedmontese winery La Scolca is a Classic Method made in the Gavi area, using pure Cortese, the white grape variety, its fermentation is carried out with the classic method in the bottle. It has a straw yellow color, intense and decisive aromas on the nose, giving a first impression of fruity aromas and intense floral fragrances. Its flavor is strong and lively, leaving a fresh flavor with a marked flavor, it can be tasted with any gastronomic combination.
