Braida, a name, a story, a revolution in the world of Barbera, bringing a variety considered by many to be not very noble in the Olympus of great varieties. The story of Braida began way back in 1961 when Giacomo Bologna created "La Monella" with the first harvest, a sparkling Barbera which in 1969 was awarded the gold medal at the national Douja d'Or wine competition in Asti and which gave the opportunity to make the product known and have the opportunity to exhibit ad honorem in other national competitions. But it was in 1982 that Giacomo Bologna, thanks to the intuitions and tests made on the vine both in the vineyard and in the cellar, created a unique product of its kind that until then was unthinkable: Bricco dell'Uccellone, a large-fruited Barbera that matures with the use of the barrique, never used for the vinification of Barbera. In that same period other great wines of the Cellar were born, such as Bricco della Bigotta and Ai Suma. Over time, new vineyards and new projects are born with the aim of safeguarding the native vines, enhancing them and creating typical wines of great finesse. Now the winery is managed by Giacomo's children, Raffaella and Giuseppe who carry the company philosophy that has characterized Braida in all these years.

Bricco dell'Uccellone Braida is a Barbera d'Asti DOCG from vines grown in the historic vineyard of Rocchetta Tanaro. Maceration on the skins for twenty days, aging in barrels for 12 months and a further 12 months in the bottle.

Bricco dell'Uccellone Braida has an intense ruby red with garnet reflections, rich and complex on the palate with hints of red fruit and berries, menthol, licorice and vanilla. The richness of the drink continues on the palate, full-bodied, ample and pleasant with fine tannins and a long aromatic persistence.
