Malvasia di Castelnuovo Don Bosco

The hills of white earth on which Cascina Gilli stands are well differentiated from the rest of the territory. In fact, the land of these hills is composed, like that of the Langa, of blue-gray clayey marls that have always produced wines rich in body and aromas. The vineyards extend all around the farmhouse and on the Bricco di Cornareto in the Municipality of Castelnuovo Don Bosco, as well as on the nearby hill of Schierano, where the first choices of Malvasia are located. The direct management of the vineyards combined with the decrease in yields per hectare has allowed us to obtain well-ripened, healthy, rich grapes. The high quality of the grapes, combined with a correct and modern vinification, have allowed us to produce wines that, starting from the Piedmontese tradition, are able to express great elegance and undisputed quality.

It is a sweet and thirst-quenching wine. Obtained from one of the most interesting aromatic vines, Malavasia di Schierano, it is characterized by a very particular combination of freshness and density of aromas. To the eye it has an attractive cherry color, with purple reflections. When poured, it is endowed with a very delicate foam and persistent vivacity. In the bouquet the wild berries stand out very clearly, together with surprising hints of flowers, which reveal themselves to wisteria and iris to the most attentive smells.
