Gattinara has been produced by the Travaglini winery since the 1950s on the rocky hills at the foot of Monte Rosa. The color is the typical intense garnet, while the bouquet is characterized by delicate spicy notes combined with a strong minerality, typical of the terroir of origin. In the mouth it's enjoable, full-bodied and pleasantly persistent.

The Trvaglini winery extends for 59 hectares in the heart of the Gattinara hills, of which 44 hectares of vineyards. Arturo Travaglini already in the 50s produced the wine already called Gattinara, and then passed the baton to his son Giancarlo, who in turn passed it on to his daughter Cinzia who today runs the company with her husband Massimo. Passion for work and research of the highest quality have been the cornerstones of an entrepreneurial activity that has developed over the years over 3 generations. The terroir that has made the Travaglini wines popular is of a rocky type and rich in skeleton, made of the same geological composition as the Alps, located on the slopes of Monte Rosa, and contributing to the unique taste of Gattinara. The vineyards are cultivated almost entirely with Nebbiolo, one of the noblest varieties, and for a small part with Vespolina and Uva Rara grapes. In the cellar, respect for traditions and maniacal care of the winemaking processes close the production cycle with the aim of obtaining wines of the highest level.
Gattinara is vinified from pure Nebbiolo grapes harvested in mid-October. The vinification takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature for about 15 days, after which the wine ages for 4 years, 3 of which in Slavonian oak barrels, and a minor part in smaller barrels for at least 1 year, followed by a further bottle aging for 3 months. An ideal red for meat dishes and aged cheeses.
