Barolo Chinato is a flavored wine produced from a Barolo base with the addition of sugar, ethyl alcohol and a range of spices. Intense ruby red color, and bouquet characterized by balsamic notes of cinchona, gentian, rhubarb. In the mouth it's soft and warm, with a hint of bitterness and a pleasant final persistence.
With sulphites.
Diego Conterno in 2000 decided to set up his own business and to produce his wines in a 7.5 hectare vineyard in the most suitable area of the Langhe Monforte d'Alba in Piedmont. The production philosophy is wine as a faithful interpreter of the territory and its peculiarities. Each sip is like savoring the vineyard and its fruit. A journey into the Langa through its protagonists: Barolo, Nebbiolo d'Alba, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba and Nascetta.
Barolo Chinato was born in the Langhe in ancient times as an antidote to colds and ailments thanks to the use of a series of spices. Diego Conterno's interpretation is one of the best expressions found on the market today, thanks to a careful selection of herbs. It's a wine for after a meal with a desert to be savored with taste, or for meditation in a special moment.
