Abuelo XII Two Oaks

Don José Varela Blanco founded the distillery, which still today produces among the best rums in the world, in the early 1900s, in Pesé in the province of Herrera in Panama. From his hometown of Betanzos in Spain he moved to the Americas in search of new horizons to explore, first establishing the first sugar factory in the country, and then leaving the children the opportunity to create excellent rums. Today, after 100 years, the company covers 1600 hectares, continuing to enhance the area and its ancient traditions.

The Ron Abuelo Two Oaks is one of the house's distillates with a complex flavor, aging first in American oak barrels previously used for bourbon, and then maturing in extra-carbonized oak barrels, which intervene in the chemistry adding aromas and heat to the rum.
