Ca' del Bosco is one of the most prestigious and innovative wineries in Italy, with a specific focus on the production of classic method sparkling wines in the Franciacorta controlled and guaranteed designation of origin (DOCG). Founded by Maurizio Zanella in the 1960s, the company quickly established itself internationally, becoming a point of reference for the quality and elegance of its wines. At the heart of Ca' del Bosco's production philosophy is a deep respect for the territory and winemaking traditions. The company owns extensive vineyards in some of the most suitable municipalities of Franciacorta, where the mineral-rich morainic soils and the temperate continental climate offer the ideal conditions for growing the white grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the main protagonists of the cuvées. The choice to vinify exclusively the grapes from its own vineyards allows Ca' del Bosco to guarantee complete traceability and to best express the unique characteristics of each individual vintage. The production method adopted by Ca' del Bosco is based on the rigorous application of the classic method, with a long refinement on the lees that gives the wines aromatic complexity and a fine and persistent perlage. The company has always invested in research and development, introducing cutting-edge technologies and experimenting with new winemaking techniques. Thanks to this innovative approach, Ca' del Bosco has managed to create an unmistakable style, characterized by a perfect balance between freshness, structure and aromatic complexity.
The Cuvée Prestige by Ca' del Bosco represents an undisputed point of reference in the Franciacorta panorama. Born in 1976 with the name of Franciacorta Pinot, this classic method sparkling wine has been the protagonist of a constant evolution, refining its identity over time and consolidating its fame at an international level. The assembly of the Cuvée Prestige is the result of careful selection and dosage work, which varies from year to year depending on the characteristics of the harvests. Generally, it is composed of a base of young wines, to which more mature reserves are added to give complexity and depth. The blend is characterized by a high percentage of Chardonnay, flanked by Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. These grapes, coming from vineyards located in particularly suitable areas of Franciacorta, give the wine a balanced structure and a wide aromatic range. The vinification of Cuvée Prestige takes place in compliance with the classic method tradition. The grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected, are subjected to soft pressing and alcoholic fermentation in steel. This is followed by the second fermentation in the bottle, during which the characteristic fine and persistent bubbles typical of Franciacorta develop. The aging on the lees for a period of no less than 24 months helps to make the wine complex and harmonious, with notes of toasted bread, nuts and evolved aromas.
To the eye, Cuvée Prestige presents itself with a bright straw yellow color, with golden reflections. The perlage is fine and persistent, forming a collar of dense and creamy bubbles. On the nose, the bouquet is broad and complex, with notes of yellow-fleshed fruit (golden apple, pear), candied citrus, white flowers (hawthorn, acacia), yeasts, toasted bread and mineral hints. On the palate, the wine is enveloping and creamy, with a fine and persistent bubble that enhances its freshness. The structure is solid, supported by good acidity, and the finish is long and persistent, with notes of dried fruit and sweet spices. The Cuvée Prestige by Ca' del Bosco is an extremely versatile wine, capable of accompanying different types of dishes. It is perfect as an aperitif, but it also lends itself to accompany delicate appetizers, fish-based first courses, white meats and soft cheeses.
