Guido Berlucchi is an Italian winery based in Borgonato, in the province of Brescia, famous for being the first winery to produce Franciacorta, the classic Italian method par excellence. Founded in 1955 by Guido Berlucchi, a descendant of the noble Lana de' Terzi family, the company immediately demonstrated a strong vocation for innovation and quality, contributing significantly to the enhancement of the territory and the spread of the culture of sparkling wine in Italy. The origins of Berlucchi date back to the 1950s, when Guido Berlucchi, fascinated by the production of sparkling wines, decided to undertake an ambitious project: to create a high-quality wine, capable of competing with the best French champagnes. The meeting with the winemaker Franco Ziliani, considered the father of Franciacorta, was crucial to the birth of this project. Ziliani, with his great experience and passion, supported Berlucchi in the creation of the first Franciacorta, sealed in bottles in 1961. Franciacorta is a sparkling wine obtained exclusively from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc grapes, grown in the vineyards of Franciacorta, a hilly area located between the lakes of Iseo and Garda. Production takes place according to the classic method, which involves a double fermentation: the first in tanks, the second in the bottle, where the wine rests on the lees for at least 18 months. Guido Berlucchi was a pioneer in the production of Franciacorta, introducing technological innovations and selecting the best grape clones, in order to obtain wines of the highest quality. Today, the company is internationally recognized as one of the leading exponents of classic method sparkling wine production in Italy. The historic Berlucchi cellar, dug ten meters deep, is a fascinating and evocative place, where the bottles rest in silence for years. In recent years, the company has invested significantly in the modernization of the winery and the sustainability of the vineyards, adopting environmentally friendly agricultural practices and increasingly focusing on the quality of the grapes. Berlucchi's vineyards extend over an area of over 100 hectares and are located in hilly areas, with southern and south-western exposure. The soil is predominantly calcareous-clayey, rich in minerals, which gives the wines great complexity and minerality. Guido Berlucchi has always been committed to protecting the environment and enhancing the territory. The company has adopted a certified environmental management system and has invested in innovative technologies to reduce the environmental impact of production.
Berlucchi's Cuvée Imperiale Dosaggio Zero represents excellence in the Franciacorta panorama, clearly expressing the potential of a suitable territory and careful winemaking. The production of Cuvée Imperiale Dosaggio Zero follows a rigorous protocol that includes Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes from vineyards located in Franciacorta, grown according to the highest quality standards. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, followed by a long aging on the lees for at least 24 months. Disgorging occurs without the addition of liqueur d'expedition (zero dosage), thus enhancing the purity and typicality of the wine. Before being released for sale, the wine is further refined in the bottle for a few months.
Bright straw yellow appearance with golden reflections, clear and crystalline. Complex and enveloping aroma, with fruity notes of golden apple, pear and citrus, enriched by delicate floral nuances of hawthorn and acacia. More evolved hints of bread crust, yeast and hazelnut are then perceived, typical of the long maturation on the lees. Balanced and persistent taste, with a fine and persistent bubble that envelops the palate. The same olfactory sensations are found on the palate, with a marked minerality and a pleasant flavour. The finish is long and persistent, with notes of almond and vanilla. The versatility of the Cuvée Imperiale Dosaggio Zero makes it perfect to accompany a wide range of dishes: Fish carpaccio, raw seafood, fresh cheeses and cured meats. Risottos, fresh pasta with delicate sauces, soups. Baked or grilled fish, white meats, poultry. Hard cheeses and blue cheeses.
