Count Augusto Carlo Giorgi of Vistarino was the first to import into Italy in 1850 the Pinot Noir grapes from France by planting them in the vineyard of his Tenuta Rocca de Giorgi, owned by his family since 1674. Through the years and generations the spirit remained the same enthusiast of the beginning, and today the farm extends for 826 hectares of which 200 are vineyards, covering almost the entire territory of the Municipality of Rocca dè Giorgi on the hills of the Oltrepò Pavese in Lombardy, always respecting its typical biodiversity. With the guidance of Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino wine production has increasingly gone towards the pursuit of quality and environmental sustainability in the sign of the best maintenance of those so prosperous lands. The investment in the technological innovation of the winery in the last 5 years has allowed the company to produce wines of great qualitative level from the vinification of Pinot Noir in red and in white for the spumante bases, preferred by the best Italian sparkling wine companies.

The production of Riesling Ries by Conte Vistarino is based on the quality of the grounds of the Rocca dè Giorgi estate and on the great temperature difference between day and night, which characterizes this area of ​​Lombardy and enhances the complexity of the vine. The grapes are carefully selected during the manual harvest, and the prematuration takes place cold in the same collection boxes for about 24 hours at a temperature of 4 ° C. Then the fermentation takes place in steel tanks slowly and at a low controlled temperature, with aging in the bottle. The result is an excellent still and dry wine, with a straw yellow color with golden reflections, an aroma of white fruits and floral scents, a broad structure and the right minerality.
