Rospiglioso, produced by the Cotarella Family, is a red wine that represents absolute excellence within the Cesanese del Piglio DOCG denomination. This wine, obtained exclusively from Cesanese grapes, masterfully expresses the unique characteristics of this ancient native Lazio vine. Cesanese del Piglio is a black grape variety that finds its maximum expression in the hills surrounding the village of Piglio, in the province of Frosinone. This vine, with ancient origins, has long been underestimated, but in recent decades it has rediscovered a new fame thanks to the work of producers such as the Cotarella Family. Cesanese del Piglio is characterized by a great structure, robust tannins and lively acidity, which give it great aging potential. Rospiglioso is made in a traditional way, with fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged partly in steel and partly in wood, to give it greater complexity and harmony. Rospiglioso is a wine that authentically expresses its territory of origin and the passion of those who produce it. It is a meditation wine, perfect for those who love structured and complex red wines.
Intense ruby red color, with garnet reflections. Complex and enveloping aroma, with notes of ripe red fruit (cherry, blackberry), spices (black pepper, cloves), tobacco and balsamic hints. Full-bodied and structured taste, with well-integrated tannins and a balanced acidity. The olfactory sensations are found on the palate, with a long and persistent finish, characterized by mineral notes. Rospiglioso is a very versatile wine, which pairs perfectly with red meat dishes, game, mature cheeses and tasty first courses. It is also ideal to accompany local cured meats and cheeses.
