Montiano

Famiglia Cotarella is a winery founded in 2016 that marks the passing of the baton from the brothers Renzo and Riccardo Cotarella, founders of the Fallesco winery in 1979, to the daughters of both Dominga, Enrica and Marta, in the sign of business continuity made of courageous choices and stimulating challenges. In addition to the Falesco estates in northern Lazio, there are those on a hill south of Orvieto, where 260 hectares of vineyards extend, planted with Vermentino, Verdicchio, Chardonnay, Pinot Nero and Merlot. A generational transition that has preserved and enhanced the great family heritage, made up of labels appreciated all over the world.

Montiano is obtained from Merlot grapes grown in the vineyards of Montefiascone in northern Lazio at 300 meters above sea level and on soils of volcanic origin with a rich composition. The harvest begins when the grapes have reached an advanced state of ripeness, to allow maximum organoleptic expression. It's vinified in large steel tanks and then matured for at least a year in French oak barriques, where it acquires its great intensity. A wine acclaimed as one of the most innovative Italian reds, with great aromatic depth and pleasant elegance.
