Sperone

The Arctico winery was born in the late 90s following the acquisition of vineyards between Aprilia and the Lanuvini Hills. Once the old vineyards were explanted, they were planted among the most important clones of international variety, in order to enhance the favorable climatic conditions and the characteristic limestone composition of the Pontine countryside and the Roman countryside. In 2012 the vineyards seem ready to give the first positive results and so it was, reaching today the goal of 16,000 bottles a year obtained from illustrious varieties such as Malvasia Puntinata, Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sperone was the first wine produced by the Artico winery in 2012. It's a red obtained 60% from Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Montepulciano, which synthesizes in a balanced way both the personality of the individual vines than the characteristics of the terroir. The grapes are harvested once they are fully ripe, de-stemmed and fermented at 27 ° C, after which they undergo a 21-day post-fermentation maceration with a submerged cap. Following the racking and soft pressing, to then refine a part of the wine in steel and another part in previously used tonneaux. A full-bodied wine that prefers strong flavors.
