Nikka From the Barrel

Nikka From the Barrel is a whisky produced in Japan through a blend of malt and cereals; specifically, the union occurs between single malt and Japanese grain whiskies that come from the Yoichi and Miyahikyo distilleries. This blend, which has quickly become famous all over the world, is characterized by several peculiarities. The Nikka distillery, in fact, relies on resources that are completely unusual and abandoned even by the Scottish tradition; this happens, for example, with the direct heating distillation method, which is used in Yoichi, one of the two distilleries owned by Nikka whisky. Returning to Nikka From the Barrel, the blend rests in oak barrels for a long time – it is not known how long -, and from its production process it inherits an exclusive richness and fullness of flavors, with a sweet and typically oriental taste of the Nikka distillery.

Nikka From the Barrel has a deep and bright copper color, and an aromatic range in which pleasant hints of flowers and fruit (pear) stand out, accentuated by notes of citrus and spices such as vanilla. On the palate it is decisive, soft and rich, reminiscent of toffee sensations and envelops with a finish of oak wood. Although its name is often confused (Nikka the Barrel, Nikka on the Barrel, Nikka in the Barrel are some of the most popular searches among users), there are no copies or similar whiskies; Nikka From the Barrel is the absolute champion also for the British, who have awarded it the gold medal at the World Whiskies Award more than once.
