Ronco del Gelso is a winery that was born in 1988, the year in which the first 3000 bottles were bottled, up to 150.000 units today. We are in Friuli-Venezia Giulia in a flat area that extends between the Collio hills and the Adriatic Sea. The soils are thin and stony, ideal for the cultivation of the vine, dry and hot, perfectly accumulating the heat of the sun and supporting the ideal ripening of the grapes. The vines that are well suited to these characteristics are Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Friulano and Malvasia Istriana among the white varieties and Merlot and Cabernet Franc among the reds. At the basis of the company's philosophy we find respect for the peculiarities of the individual varieties, and the continuous search for the essential aromas of the terroir, and for a certain balance associated with elegance. Thus were born the wines of Ronco del Gelso that have deservedly carved out an important space in the Italian and international wine scene.

Rosimi is obtained from Merlot grapes that are not macerated but squeezed like a white grape. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 19 ° C, and the maturation on the lees in wooden barrels lasts for a whole year, sweetening its angularity and creating that harmony of wide and complex flavors.
