Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot, a member of a family with solid roots in the world of finance and textile trade, Maison Veuve Clicquot is an undisputed point of reference in the panorama of prestigious Champagnes. Clicquot's entrepreneurial intuition, combined with the ownership of quality vineyards, gave rise to a production reality destined to characterize the world wine scene. From the very beginning, the company showed a strong vocation for internationalization, with the ambitious goal of establishing its products on the most demanding markets. This strategic vision was inherited by François Clicquot, the founder's son. However, François' premature death in 1805 marked an unexpected turning point. His widow, Barbe-Nicole Ponsardin, then just twenty-seven years old, took over the reins of the company with determination, demonstrating an innate talent for business and uncommon foresight. Known as Madame Clicquot, she became a pioneer of female entrepreneurship, leading the House towards increasingly ambitious goals. Among the many innovations introduced by Madame Clicquot, the most notable were the creation of the first vintage Champagne, a revolutionary initiative that inextricably linked the name of the House to the concept of vintage and territorial typicity, and the invention of the "table de remuage", a mechanical device destined to revolutionize the process of maturation and clarification of Champagne. This latter invention, still used today in many cellars, allows the bottles to be gradually oriented in a vertical position, facilitating the sedimentation of the yeasts and ensuring the crystalline clarity of the final product. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the House of Veuve Clicquot consolidated its reputation, winning the admiration of emperors, tsars and celebrities of every era. The acquisition by the Louis Vuitton group in 1986 marked a new chapter in the history of the House, establishing an indissoluble link with the world of luxury and fashion. Today, Veuve Clicquot is a symbol of excellence and refinement, appreciated throughout the world by a demanding and tradition-conscious public. The House continues to innovate, keeping Madame Clicquot's pioneering spirit alive and ensuring its products have a prominent place in the Olympus of the most prestigious Champagnes.

Veuve Clicquot Cuvée Saint-Pétersbourg is a renowned Champagne that pays tribute to a crucial moment in the history of the House. In 1814, Madame Clicquot successfully exported her Champagne to the Russian court of Saint Petersburg, despite the Napoleonic blockade. This feat consolidated Veuve Clicquot's reputation among the Russian nobility and established the House as a world leader in luxury Champagne.

Cuvée Saint-Pétersbourg is made from the same basic blend as the iconic Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. The blend is dominated by Pinot Noir, which provides structure and body, complemented by Chardonnay for finesse and Pinot Meunier for fruitiness. The wine undergoes a long aging process of around 48 months on the lees. This prolonged contact with the yeast sediment gives complexity and depth to the Champagne, resulting in flavours of vanilla, brioche and toast.

Golden in colour with fine and persistent bubbles. A complex bouquet of ripe fruit (peach, pear), citrus zest, vanilla, brioche and toasted notes. The palate is characterised by a harmonious balance between fruitiness, richness and minerality, with a fresh finish.
