The story of one of the last Maison de Champagne still independent and among the most renowned in the world, owes its success to the resourcefulness, foresight and genius of its founder Louis Roederer in the early nineteenth century. It was he who embarked on the purchase of the Grands Crus de Champagne with an enlightened approach that was based on the careful selection of the land and vineyards even before the grapes. From here it traces a furrow that will mark the inexorable path towards the success of the Maison and its family. An esthete and great scholar he invented the first "cuvée de prestige" with the name of Cristal in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II , which definitively consolidated the reputation of excellence conquered by the Maison. Today at the seventh generation of the dynasty with Frédéric Rouzard, the estate extend for 240 hectares in the Vallée de la Marne and exclusively include Grands and Premiers Crus, increasingly aligned with the principles of biodynamics, Louis Roederer is at the top of the Champagne production with his 3 million bottles shipped to over one hundred countries in the world.
