Grand Siècle

The Laurent-Perrier House was founded in 1812 in France by André Michel Pierlot with the acquisition of the vineyards in the villages of Bouzy, Tours-sur-Marne and Ambonnay, in the hearth of Champagne. At his death the company was taken over by Eugene Laurent, then passed to the widow Laurent, Mathilde Emilie Perrier, hence the combined name Laurent-Perrier. Sold in 1929 to Marie-Louise Lanson de Nonancourt, it was the dedication of his son Bernard de Nonancourt to decree its success, he established privileged working relationships with the grape growers and cleverly combined innovation and tradition. He created the signature Laurent-Perrier style of freshness, lightness and elegance and developed a unique range of champagnes which are today exported to more than 160 countries worldwide.

The idea of Grand Siècle is based on one observation: nature will probably never provide the perfect oenological year but thanks to the art of assemblage, Laurent-Perrier can in fact create it. Going far beyond rare vintages, Grand Siècle is the blending of three outstanding years declared as vintages by Laurent-Perrier and chosen for their complementary traits. Well-rounded and developed, the wine brings a feeling of fullness while its beautiful minerality leaves an outstanding sensation of freshness –Grand Siècle offers a perfect balance between strength and delicacy.
