Cordon Rouge Milésimé

The Mumm brothers founded the historic Champagne Maison in Reims in 1827, but we find traces of it in a far more distant past when Peter Arnold Mumm began his activity as a winemaker in Cologne, Germany in 1761. It was his sons who realized the potential of the wine produced in the Champagne region in France in the early nineteenth century where they moved there giving life to this exciting story. Today G.H. Mumm has 218 hectares of which 160 are classified as Grand Crus, and represent the best terroirs of the entire region. The history of this Maison is characterized by illustrious practices, later adopted as a reference, such as the installation of presses in the vineyards to minimize the damage caused by transporting the grapes. There have been many royal families conquered by the illustrious brand, including Queen Elizabeth II, and official gifts such as that of the French Legion of Honor celebrated by the same Cordon Rouge, the red ribbon symbolically affixed to the bottle.

Champagne Cordon Rouge Brut Mumm Millésimé is a Grand Cru for 72% of Pinot Noir grapes and 28% of Chardonnay. The color is a golden yellow, to the nose the notes of white and yellow fruit like peach and pear are combined with hints of hazelnut and citrus fruit. On the palate the freshness and minerality are incredible, as well as the consistency of the bubbles. Savory and pleasantly persistent finish, perfect if combined with sushi, crudités or a good fish carpaccio.
