In 1875 the Maglios arrived in Maglie (Le), where the company is still based today. It was the talent and tenacity of Antonio, who opened an inn with a change of horses, that laid the foundations of a brand that has spanned the decades, fashions, wars and social changes. To follow the customs of the time, Giuseppe, son of Antonio, opened a café in the center of the city with an adjoining sweets workshop. A worthy heir of such an enterprising father was Dante, who in the early twentieth century not only added home banquets and receptions to his main business, but also started the production of artisanal liqueurs. As regards the many specialties based on almond paste, Dante found in the chocolate, used for coating, a precious ally to prolong their shelf life. In the 1960s, his son Vincenzo found fertile ground to intensify the production of chocolate and pastries: with an innovative spirit, he invented recipes, enriched the confectionery production and decided to identify the company with the buggy brand. Currently, at the head of the Maglio group, there are Maurizio and Massimo, who have inherited an invaluable heritage of values and knowledge and the responsibility of making Maglio live, in the present and in the future, in Italy and abroad.
The Cuyagua Bar is made with 90% Criollo Cacao, a very fine variety of pure origin, grown on the coast of Cuyagua, surmounted by sloping mountains in a splendid valley in the state of Aragua, in the central part of Venezuela. The bouquet is very intense and rich in aromas, with very fruity flavours, with hints of cherry, hazelnut, almonds and a light herbaceous note. Intense taste with a fruity aftertaste.
