The story is compelling, the result of tireless research of seven years by Ivan Trombino, the award-winning alchemist who reconstructed the adventurous exploits of Captain Jefferson: he, together with the sailors Roger and Gil driving his ship full of Rum on the route from Panama to Genoa, it was shipwrecked in 1871 on the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria between Fiumefreddo and Fuscaldo.

It was then that they came across the old bonded warehouse managed by Raffaele Trombino known as "u Giocondo", with whom they began to distil liqueurs with precious herbs collected in the flourishing Calabrian countryside. Since then all the secrets and ancient recipes born from this daring story seemed lost, until Ivan Trombino, a descendant of Raffaele, found a way to bring them back into vogue by conquering the whole world with his natural liqueurs branded Vecchio Magazzino Doganale .
