Foursquare Mark XXI 2010

Richard Seale was born to make Rum, this is the legend of one of the most influential Rum producers in the world, great-grandson of Reginal Leon Seal who founded the Foursquare Distillery in 1926 in Barbados, now in its fourth generation. His battle against the addition of sugars in rum, too often without the knowledge of customers, and the accuracy of the information on aging on the bottle was significant. Today the Foursquare Distillery produces two main labels: Doorly's and Foursquare. The first is the backbone of the company and a historic brand of Barbados Rum, the second expresses all of Richard's creativity and audacity in experimentation, giving life to limited production bottles. A characteristic of the historic brand is the refinement of Rums in different types of barrels that guarantee their personality without ever sacrificing drinkability.

Foursquare Mark XXI 2010 is a single blended rum of exceptional complexity, the result of careful selection and aging for 12 years in a combination of first, second and third fill ex-Bourbon barrels. This maturation process, carried out entirely on the island of Barbados, gives the distillate rich and deep aromatic notes, balanced by a robust and enveloping structure. On the nose, intense notes of vanilla, caramel, dried fruit and spices stand out, all wrapped in an elegant hint of toasted wood. On the palate, the rum reveals itself full and full-bodied, with an explosion of flavors ranging from fruity and spicy notes to more toasted and woody ones. The finish is long and persistent, with a pleasant aftertaste of vanilla. Bottled at a natural 60% ABV, with no added colourings, sugars, additives or filtration, Mark XXI 2010 represents an authentic expression of Caribbean rum, destined to satisfy the most demanding palates."
