One of the most prestigious 5ème Grand Cru Classé Pauillac in Médoc. Château Pontet Canet was founded back in 1705 by the then Governor of the Médoc, Jean-François de Pontet, who bought some land making vineyards. The Cellar was one of the few that became part of the prestigious classification of 1855. A wine to be kept in time and discover it after years of rest.
Declared the 5th Grand Cru Classé in the classification of 1855, the Chateau produces one of the most solid wines of the appellation to which it belongs.
Domaine de L’Eglise makes use of a vineyard area of about 7 hectares with vines with an average age of 40 years. The deep aromatic richness takes a few years before it can be fully expressed. It has recently been included in the list of wines present at the Elysée.
The vineyards of this Château dominate the village of St. Emilion. Within the vineyard area of about 10 hectares, there are some pre-phylloxera vines (average age about 140 years). The rare bunches produced, they enterin the final assembly of this wine that is among the most classic of its appellation.
Château Clinet is a small Pomerol estate that has made giant leaps forward over the past 15 years and now produces one of the most sought after wines in the region. At the end of the 1980s the directives of the cult winemaker Michel Rolland were put into practice, and after a few years the Clinet wines began to be combined with those of Pétrus, Lafleur and Le Pin.
